MEETINGS:
|
Wood
carving meetings are held at the Lakeland Community Center, 4016
352nd South in Federal Way, WA on the second Friday of every
month at 7:00 pm and beginners
and visitors are always welcome. The program for
the meeting is usually announced on our Home Page. Come as
early as 5:30 to carve.

| OBJECTIVES: |
The objectives
of the wood carving club are to provide a program of demonstrations or
discussions on an aspect of wood carving at each regular meeting; to
encourage members to bring their wood carvings to the meetings for
"Show & Tell"; to maintain a library of books,
magazines, patterns, videos and other educational materials related to
wood carving for use of the membership; to encourage members to display
and demonstrate wood carving at public events and to give programs
for school children; to publish a monthly newsletter, "NORTHWEST
CHIPPINGS", and to participate in and present any other types of
programs which will promote the art of wood carving.

NWCA invites you
to visit the Northwest Wood Carvers Show & Sale
web site and to enter our show with your work. Wood
carvings are accepted by mail. Mailed entries must be in by November
1, 2008. Information and prospectus are available at
your request by regular mail, telephone, or e-mail and the
prospectus and entry forms are also available by downloading
from our web pages. You are invited to visit our
web site for the information on the event
calendar & Woodcarving Clubs list and of course you
are invited to visit a meeting. Our web pages include
a very basic beginner FAQ, a wood carver's Beginner
Project Page, a picture Gallery of our Show Carvings, some
patterns and articles on carving, hundreds of links, Forum,
entry forms for the Show & Sale and....
A "Woodcarvers of
the World" Gallery where anyone may show their work.
We hope
that some of these pages will encourage YOU to become a
WOOD CARVER too.

| MEMBERSHIP: |
Any person with
an interest in the art of wood carving may become a member
of this association. Dues are currently $20.00 per
year and include our monthly club bulletin
"NORTHWEST CHIPPINGS", use of the library (no checkouts by
mail), and a yearly directory of members. Membership dues
may be sent with your name, address, telephone number, and
e-mail address to Northwest Wood Carvers Association, PO Box
6092, Federal Way, WA 98063-6092

| PURPOSE: |
Northwest Wood
Carvers Assn. is a non-profit organization which strives to
provide a forum where people interested in wood carving may
meet together to increase their wood carving skills through
instruction and teaching, participate in club activities, study
wood carving as an art form, and receive mutual assistance
and encouragement on their wood carving.
